On Friday, October 13 at about 7.30 a.m., an attack struck the town of Kaniv, in central Ukraine, damaging a school, a kindergarten and several apartment buildings. Shortly after, Robert Laprade, Canadian Red Cross’ Country Representative in Ukraine, met with and assisted local Ukrainian Red Cross (Червоний Хрест України) teams providing rapid emergency support to several hundred of families who suffered damage to their home.
