Cold weather will persist across Southwest and Central Virginia through the next several days. It will be a bitterly cold start to Tuesday—morning temperatures will range from just below zero to the lower teens.

Bitter cold Arctic air will lock in through the week and into the weekend as well bringing a long run of well below normal temps. Temps will be cold enough early Tuesday to warrant a First Alert Weather Day for through Tuesday morning.

An extreme cold warning is in effect until noon today and then a cold weather advisory will go in effect for this evening and into Wednesday's forecast.

Tuesday in the Philadelphia region will be very cold again, with highs in the low 20s and feels-like temperatures at 10 degrees.

The National Weather Service released an updated cold weather advisory at 1:27 a.m. on Tuesday in effect until 1 p.m. for Steuben County.

On Tuesday at 1:04 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a cold weather advisory valid for Wednesday between midnight and 10 a.m. for Hudson, Essex and Union counties.

Cold temperatures continue all week

An extreme cold warning has been issued for the Pittsburgh area following historic snowfall in the region from a massive winter storm system that moved through western Pennsylvania.The National Weather Service issued the extreme cold warning late Sunday night.
