I paid extra for the anti-spin rear differential. But now I'm not so sure it was worth it. With the ABS equipment applying the brakes to a spinning rear tire and transferring power to the other tire, what does the anti-spin rear diff really do for me? In my `99 Silverado I could definitely...
I have a 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn with a 3.92 axle ratio. I'm getting major wheel spin on wet surfaces. I had a lot of good recommendations on tires thru this...
Hi All ..I have 2017 Ram 1500 Reg cab with 3.92 gears … I thought I Had the Anti- Spin DIFF this is what my window stickers says but when I put the truck up & spin the wheels one wheel will go in opposite direction I did this on both wheels a few times …. is there any other way to determine...
Does anyone have a method for balancing the tires on earlier cars with wheels of a size that are not compatible with modern wheel balancers found in most tire shops? My '32 Packard is fine up to about 40 mph then I get front wheel wobble and vibration. --Scott Dwyer Troy, NY
If you don't use the OEM, Precision Hubs (at O'Reilly Auto) make a really good wheel hub assy for these trucks. If you want to confirm, jack up the front of the truck and spin the wheel.
If wheel spin is detected, brake pressure is applied to the slipping wheel (s), and engine power is reduced to provide enhanced acceleration and stability. A feature of the TCS functions similarly to a limited-slip differential and controls the wheel spin across a driven axle.
Makes me wonder about calling it Anti-Spin when it actually allows total free spin. With modern traction/stability control, the computer breaking the free wheel should help the Torsen apply torque to the other wheel, but just try finding accurate technical information on this. Good Luck.
I am in need of a copy of the operating manual for an Alemite model # 7056 strobe type electronic wheel balancer. I have the strobe unit, and the vibration pickup, as well as the wheel spinner and the adapter rings for 13", 14", and 15" wheels. I have used the rings and spinner, but have not used...
Had to kick myself yesterday. Been working on the old Dodge Sweptside pickup and I put the brakes back together. Doing the rear set I looked at the letter on the end of the stud and there's an L for left of course. Well, without much thought I put it on the left hand side of the truck. Got around...
Thats where limited slip diffs/anti-spin diffs/ anti-slip diffs/ whateveryouwanacallit diffs come in LSD/ASD: there is a preset "setting", if you will, that determines when it locks. Lets say its 50/50 lock/slip. The diff will allow the wheels to spin up to or about 50% power, at which point it locks.
